lower timing belt cover reinstallation help
i've been wrestling with my car for the last hour just trying to get the lower timing belt cover back on. is there a trick to doing this? like taking off the engine mount, suspension components, rotating the cover a certain way, etc... it came off pretty easy, but i cannot get it back up there for the life of me. the radius rod and axle are blocking it from the bottom, and the engine mount and pulleys block it from being lowered in. i'm about to shoot my car!
I hear you man, I went through the same damn thing a couple weeks ago. Sucks doesn't it. I didn't remove anything, although it may have made it easier. I just messed with it trying different ways. Removing the radius rod will probably make it easier, that is what was jamming me up.
Put it in through the bottom for sure. In my 5g I snuck it in past the radius rod, and upwards. Once it's in far enough along, pull it into place from the top.
