it's all about the driver. Your not going to automaticlly run high 14's because the car is able to run high 14's. it all boils down to the driver.

Your reaction time does not affect your trap time.

when i first ran the 1/4 mile in my DC5-s, i ran multiple low 15s with an average of 15.2 @ 94 mph. most of which was due to my being new in the car and not used to it, plus the track prep was poor and my tires were near bald. i suspect that on a beter track with beter tires it would have no problem reaching a 14.9 or lower because the car is light, powerfull, and has the gearing, but its only downfall from the factory is the absence of an LSD. with an LSD ive seen stock RSX's run 14.9 to 14.6 all day.

If you don't know how to drive the car and are not used to being on the track.. you are not going to hit high 14's. It takes time and practice to learn how to drive. It's not going to come automaticlly with a snap of the fingers.

Hey don't worry about it. That time is great. i have never ran at a track before because every time I go I don't want to look like an *** for running some stupid times. So at least you went down the track!

you don't look like an *** when you go to the track and don't run a good time. If you are learning that is only way to learn how to drive. Who cares what people think if you can't drive. You're there to improve on your time, testing or actually drag racing. Go to the track and have fun.

Not trying to steal your thread or anything but my first time on the track, I ran a best of 14.6 @ 96.53 with a 60' of 2.3 . Only mod I have is an INJEN CAI. I launched at 5k cause our cars have that rev limit at 5k or so that won't let you rev past that rpm till you let go of the clutch. With that being said, that time was at an awesome track and it was a cool day and the track was already hot. That time was in Cecil, Ga. I live in Gainesville, Fl and we have a 1/4mi track here and I can't seem to break 14's ! I'm doing the same exact thing I was doing at Cecil. From MY experience, the track has a lot to do with it. Some may say otherwise...
