Default How much have you paid for your paintjob?

i am going to get my eg painted soon and was wondering how much everyone paid here for their paintjob. i going to change the color so i'm guessing that it's going to cost a lot, since the engine bay and door jams are going to get repainted as well.

everyone is going to tell you that it all depends on where you go, and that you get what you pay for.

Do you need any body work done? If nothing major needs done, I'd say you'd be looking at $3000 and up for a quality job. This is completely a ballpark, but I would be concerned about the quality if I was paying any less.

And to everyone who is going to reply after this and say "You don't know what you're talking about, I got my car painted at 'joe blow's body shop' for $1000 and it came out looking show quality!", save your typing, I know, thats great, I'm happy for you. But generally speaking, you should expect to pay anywhere from $3000 and up for a quality color change with little body work.

3,000 depending on your location is probley a fair price to pay, But how much have i payed before for paint...the answer the 2 cars i've had painted and had kits fit on (flame suit on) (they wern't hondas) one was 3,000 and was just a basic 4 piece kit and a color change from red to black at decent shop was 3,000 the other car was very elaborate painted by the best with a three stage paint and was 11,000

$3279 to get my old coupe colorchanged, everything but the engine bay. Black to silverstone metallic. And this price was not their original estimate; I told them what I wanted and how much I'd pay, or I'd take my business elsewhere. I saved myself around $500 or so for labor. Note, this did NOT include the $200 I paid to get my glass pulled out, nor did it include all the NEW glass, molding, (oem) bumpers.

In and Out it was around $5000
