Default brothers from different mothers....GT42R and S372

First, I'd like to thank LJ at full blown for giving me the time and opportunity to use his shop space and his Garrett turbo for comparison's sake. I wanted to take the housings off but I don't think LJ would've allowed so I didn't. These pictures are for physical size comparison only. The turbos are a Garrett gt4294r and a Borg Warner/Airwerks S372 with the standard cover. I wish I had a race cover to compare with because I know they are larger than the standard cover but I hope this will do for now and help you choose a manifold that will accommodate these two turbos because they are different in small ways.

garrett on left, BW on right

I chose the cheaper way out. I know I know but money does play a big factor in this game. for me at least.

Take the covers off, to show the differences in the compressor wheel designs. Then you'll see they are more like "cousins", than brothers

I ran a 42r for 2 years and never even came close to that. I know for a fact that the 372 makes more power, i also had to buy a bigger fuel pump when i switched.

Anyone else notice that the dyno graphs are really hard to compare for the curve?
The S372 dyno graph has the speed, but no rpm. Can you provide one?

Went 162 in pomona with the headlight in.

Not sure what you're getting at, but i know 100% for a fact that this turbo makes more power than a 4294R.

That and the .4L extra of displacement. It must be a 2.0 GSR... because of the simliarities in torque. That or the H series was running less aggressive timing than the gsr.
