Default oil leaking from headgasket

ok. i just built my motor and put it in the car. every seal in the motor is fresh. well today i started it up and there is oil leaking from my headgasket on the front side of the motor. the block was decked and the head was milled, so i dont think thats the issue. i can see its not the cam seal (which is new anyway). im assuming maybe i need to retorque my head studs, is it possible to do this without having to buy a new gasket, or am i just fucked?

put the o ring on and started it up. still leaks. IF its the headgasket leaking, can i just torque the head studs down some more or do i have to take the head off and replace the gasket?

try to retorque the head bolts, as long as you don't back out you should be okay. ARP even reccomends to retorque their head studs after 10 heat cycles

if this is your first startup i dont see how you would need to retorque them. i'd pull the head off and try another head gasket/make sure you put it on the right way.

i torqued the head studs to 72 lbs using arp lube and i know for a fact the gasket is on right. i dunno what to do. i guess ill try re torquing them to 80 and see if that fixes it. if not, ill pull the head off and try a new gasket.

is your car smoking? definately do a compression and leakdown before you rip it apart.

almost all my motors have a slight oil leak on the front of the head/front corner of the block right above the transmission. its either been the valvecover gasket dripping down or the vtec soilenoid/cam seal plug. the oil just tends to pool and collect on the top of the trans/block deck marker under the coolant temp sensor

yeah its smoking, it has 0 miles on it. i coated everything with oil before i put it together, including the pistons. it is leaking on the front from the head gasket. it runs down onto the engine code. the cam seal is not leaking and its brand new. the vtec solenoid gasket is brand new and im 99 percent sure thats not it. there is not any oil on the head, just on the block.

my new motors have always smoked for a little while..burning off the wd40 on the cyl walls and other ****. im still skeptical that your hg is that blown with 0 miles that its leaking both into the cyls and out from the front.

were the block and head (or at least head) decked prior to assembly?

im willing to check anything, but its leakin on both front sides of the motor. to me that just says improper torque on the head gasket. the head was milled and the block was decked.

Ive have searched on here about the same problem. I have change the headgasket sprayed it with copper spray, put some new dowels in and it still leaks. It has a robear cam seal the double o ring one, a new oem vtec sol. gasket, and retorqued the arps thinking the arps loosened up. The head and block have been checked for straightness. I cant figure out why it is still leaking oil

If you had the head at the shop, make sure EVERY single allen plug is tight in the head BEFORE you tear anything apart. The oil was actually running out of the plug onto the HG, across the front of the engine, and then down. it wasnt at all obvious that the oil was actually leaking on the other side of the engine... I went through something like this before and it was a stupid oversight like making sure the machine shop tightened everything they removed. I dont know how many times we removed that head before we realized that the crystal clear oil was actually running out of the plug not the gasket
