Default vehicle speed sensor

ok , so i was changing tranny fluid today and i filled fluid thru the VSS and after im done i go and tighten the 10mm bolt that holds it in place and some how i snapped the mount but the bolt is still there... i was gonna go get another VSS but eveyrwhere is closed...

right now it is electrical tapped to kinda stay in place lol.... i was wondering can the gears inside actually gain enough momentem to swing the whole VSS out of place ?? i didnt want to take it off and leave a big hole where dirt and stuff can get in my tranny...

thanks

Same thing happened to me. Very common problem.

I JB Welded it, but as soon as I remove it again, the bond broke. I left it like that and the VSS never came out of the tranny.

Use jb weld or any epoxy to put it back together. Not worth replacing the whole thing as its a common problem. -ejoner (200)!

To clarify, JB weld the sensor housing back together, don't JB weld the sensor to the tranny case.

this is actaully my first time changing tranny fluid and i read the DIY and a lot of people recommend filling thru the vss because it is much easier to access to.

It's the biggest hole on the top of the transmission, and only one 10mm nut holds the VSS in there. It's pretty ideal.
