Is it on all the time? Mine comes on from time to time, and then goes off again. I always thought it was just a sensor reading something and telling it when the appropriate time to be on and off is. Other than that, I'm not to sure what would cause it to go on and off. If it is off all the time, might be a switch gone bad.

do you know why your SRS light is on? have you checked it out? you can go to any autozone, checkers or some kind of car store and have it read for free Or you can read the code.

Did you buy the car used? Was there any stereo equipment installed or maybe some other reson one of the seats had to come out? If so then someone may have turned the key over with the seat harness unplugged and this can set off the SRS light. All you have to do is get it switched off if so. Also do you have a stock steering wheel?

yes i bought it used and interior of the car is stock nothing has been changed or unpluged. i know the rotors need to be changed and the break pads but it was on before the went bad. they are still good but they are showing wear.

my srs is on and stays on. took it to acura and they read the code...srs unit went bad. therefore, i have no airbags. a new unit will run me about $600.

i have an '02 type s....but that could also be the same thing that is going on with yours.

Wait a second... the SRS.. light.. i am thinking of the CEL.

the SRS should be under warranty because acura found the SRS had some issues. i believe it's 100k warranty. Did you change anything like seats, steering wheel?

i would still look into it and not take just his word.

I had an acura dealership told me they had some SRS units that had issues with them and was only thing that had 100k warranty on it.

It's a bit odd how everyone has a "friend" that works at an Acura/Honda dealership. just because you have a "friend" who works at a dealership doesn't mean your going to have the "hookup".

again i'd look into it if i was you.
