GMB timing belt tensioner pulley ( water pump ) is JUNK
Just a quick heads up - I bought an "OEM replacement" timing belt/water pump kit online and installed it at 90k miles. I have since put 18k miles on the car and I started to hear funny noises coming from the timing belt area.
I tore the car apart and discovered that the tensioner pulley had started to fail. I'm not saying it's the cause of the noise, but it certainly is a piece of **** that was going to fail soon. The bearings displaced all the grease inside and the bearing was a bit noisy and had some free-play to it.
Luckily, being the pack-rat that I am, I kept the original NSK pulley that had 80k miles on it. It still feels perfect - no noise and zero side play. So I'm putting the old one back on and tossing out this GMB garbage.

I just think it's bullshit that ball bearing replacement is always "recommended" in order to "do a job right."
If you believe that, you're just a sucker for the parts industry. I should have never replaced it to begin with.

Unfortunetly, new parts do go bad quickly sometimes and sometimes its good to be a packrat, look at me, I am moving my house right now, 5 big vanloads of stuff I never touch, **** on all this stuff.
Doint the job right=change all parts, sorry if that part went bad on you bro. Lucky you are a good DIYer.
