Default head gasket question

when replacing the head gasket, do you need machine work to be done???
if so like what???

Only if the head has been damaged or the motor ever overheated, but its alway a good idea to have the head checked when is off.

pressure check and resurface.. could replace valve seals and guides if they are bad.. or if you have the money for it... if not then just pressure check and resurface...

I did a head gasket and we just replaced the head gasket with no head work done to it and it runs great not sure if it was warped I guess I will soon find out if it blows it again.
