Default Hondata ECU flash questions...

How many of you have the EP3 Hondata flash? Not K-pro, but the 600 dollar one.

I was just curious as to how much quicker the car is with the flash and maybe some bolt ons? I know it is supposed to drop about a second of the 0-60 time (one less shift) but I am also looking for quarter mile times and maybe how much faster it seems from a roll (cause of downshifts and stuff).

Thanks guys. I am looking into the flash so that's why I have the questions.

I dont know alot about it but I know if you go to Hondata.com and read up about it. Iam interested in it too because Iam looking at it for my DC5. I know its enables the vtec to engage at 5,200 instead of 5,800 and gives it a longer rev through redline. So basically it lets you stay in vtec longer and gives you alot more low end torque between 3k and 4k rpms. Or somewhere around that. Sorry if I couldnt be more help.

the reflash for the ep3 is different from the type-s since the k20a3 doesnt have "real" i-vtec. so theres no change in i-vtec engagement. what it does is raise the rev limit to 7700rpm, and keeps vtc at 2200rpm. from what i've heard it's really worth the money. i havent heard anything negative about it. hopefully this helps a little. if not, hondata.com will.

Why would you sell your reflashed ECU? You can have it upgrade to the K-pro. The VTEC point on the RSX-S is also not the same--it is lowered. Misinformation = bad.

Anyways, reflash is a great setup and even works good on a stock car. If you get more mods down the line, then send it back to hondata to have it upgraded.

I really don't care if you want to spend more money/time. My point of the post was to inform people (that are willing to save money/time) that they can upgrade from the reflash to K-Pro.

i got the reflash in my ep3 and i like it but... its not gonna make ur head spin with all the NEW power ur gonna get outa the reflash...

So if ur just planing on headers/straight pipe/intake/exhaust/race header/basic bolt ons... doing the reflash is the best thing for u because u can allways put your stock parts back on and smog the car and its fun to see that needle go into the red...

if ur going to look into cams/turbo/a2 head swap/engine swap.... u will need the extra features like tuning and other nick nacks that kpro can control....

Don't need to worry about smog crap here in Oregon. I am just looking at it because for the money it seems like it is the next reasonable mod for my car engine wise.
