Default Horsepower gains?

I have a 06 civic LX, and i cant find many mods for the R18 engine. The most ive found is CAI, and Downpipes. I kno that AJP finally came out with a turbo for my motor....but im looking for cheaper HP gains. Anybody have any imput i would really appreciate it. thanks

That's really about it right now. The Si is only a few grand more and much more powerful and tunable out of the box, so manufacturers are focusing on that. Catback exhausts are the only other thing missing on your list that's really available.

Not really worth the money, IMO. WHP : $$$ ratio is pretty horrible, save for the turbo.

I also have an R18 and I would suggest working on the appearance first. Tint and rims were the first on my list. The other mod u can do is pulleys. It will give u some gains and will increase ur mpg.

ya i have an 07 lx and i'm just working on the appearance, i'm keeping the engine stock. R18s were not meant to have hp.

I'm car-retarded and have an Si. My "guy" said that adding a catback to my CAI would make twice the HP gain, since it completes the battery if you will. Basically he told me that "if the CAI were to get 5 HP/torque/whatever alone, and the exhaust were to get 5 as well, the two of them together would be good for around 15 total. Is this accurate? it kinda makes sense to me since both mods compliment each other.

^^^^ Yeah something like that...it would make sense that a race ported head won't make awesome power with a stock intake...but that's a huge difference from simple bolt-ons so yeah.

Good idea! It sounds to me like the Si and the money to insure it were outside of your budget. Save your money instead of dumping into something you didn't really want in the 1st place.
