Insurnace claims?
Im just wondering what happends if you where to make a claim, like if you crash, drop the bike, or if someone steals it and make a claim on it, does your insurance go up, do you have to be the deductible, or what.
Anybody make any claims for anything, what happends, does your insurance give you a hard time? I know I should be asking my insurance but i just want to hear some real stories on what happends.

Your insurance premium typically increases if the insurance has to pay...such as in an "at fault" incident. If the damage is within your deductible, then you'd pay for it, and your insurance should not go up.
Your provider typically will ask for all the facts surrounding a report - your view, the other party's view (if someone else is involved), and possibly a police report (if there is one). I went through Geico for one claim (not at fault) and everything was peachy smooth, like a fresh Brazilian wax. State Farm dicked me around for two separate incidents (neither of which was my fault), so needless to say we dropped them.
IIRC, "psychochik" works for an insurance agency, so she can give you a better insight.

Your insurance rates are not supposed to go up if it is stolen, because a theft is not your fault, but it will if you get in an accident. the first and second time my bike was stolen i just had to pay the deductible, but my rate did not increase. my third bike got stolen a couple weeks ago and i have not been paid out for it yet. the insurance company is pissed i guess, and i have to go speak to their attorney on Wednesday. as of right now they are not paying me, and i have no idea if they will insure me again.

Haha, I'm going to look you up at work!1
Honestly, your premiums can go up with too many non fault claims that have needed to be paid out since well, you cost us more money.
One thing to keep in mind is that the second you start asking your company questions regarding "what will happen if _______ were to happen", a claim will be filed under your policy. If it's not you filing it, it's the person you were posing hypothetical questions to. Every company is different but most will file a claim and follow up with whatever resources necessary to prove the hypothetical true or false.
p.s. Herb, I'll leave your files alone.

Nobody is pissed at you but red flags have been thrown up for fraud. Nobody will tell you this to your face but you are being investigated to rule out any possibilities of it. Every carrier in CA is required to have a department to address this (if i recall correctly).

also if you're going to make a claim it helps to have a police report.
I.e. if you're asking hypothetical questions here but really you crashed your bike last week and that's why you were asking about buying a new 07 or 08, then your insurance company is probably going to give you a hard time.

Something else to note: We do read forums/websites before writing a check...
