Fuel door not springing open
Noob question of the night...
What gives a fuel door it's spring to open?
I've got a 94 Civic DX that the cable pull and button at the door appear to be working fine but the door will not pop open.
Reminds me of a stuck hood that will not spring up.
Any help would be great.

Take a look at the door by the hinge there should be a piece of metal thats sticking out at an angle thats the spring just bend it back into position it might take more then one shot to get it right.

I had to order a new pull cable from the dealer. It includes the fuel and trunk. I really dont feel like putting it in so for now, i pull up my trunk lining and manually twist the black piece counterclockwise. If you are having the same problem as me, when you pull the fuel filler release door it wont open. Mine does this because when the cable pulls, it no longer retracts the little lock. Hard to explain but find someone with a Honda and open the fuel filler door. Then while its open, have them repeatedly pull the release and you will see what i'm talking bout. I also have a hatch and if you do to, you should run no trunk lining until you can swap the cable. If you have a hatch like my 95...you have a lot more space to play with than my 03 4dr
so it should be easier to change the cable
