Clutch & Flywheel
Hey guys, looking into replacing my clutch on my '00 si. The car has basic bolt-ons and is daily driven. Never tracked but like most enthusiasts, it's driven pretty hard. I've been searching and looking into exedy clutches. Should I go with exedy oem replacement or stage 1? How many miles should I expect out of them? Also, I've searched and noticed many up and down opinions on lightweight vs. stock resurfaced flywheel. Opinions in that section are also appreciated.
Also, I'm gonna get it on a dyno soon to get tuned. My current OEM clutch slips only if you shift hard. Should I replace my clutch and break it in before tuning or would my clutch now affect #'s? If I shoudl replace, how much break in mileage should I bank on before hitting the dyno?
Sorry for all the ?'s.
Thanks!

i say go for the stage 1 along with the flywheel.
i've put about 30-40 on mine and i haven't felt any change yet.
I honestly haven't felt any of the downsides i hear people discuss about lightened flywheels.
good luck capitain

I LOVE MY LIGHT FLYWHEEL!!!! i can really burn the rubber off my tires with it and it is a 7 pounder i weighed it!!!! awsome launches and it revs faster now!!!!!just be careful when your burning out to not %#@! it up you could jump teeth on your belt or break a rod easily cause it revs FAST so keep your eye oin your tack and if you dont have one get one!!! as for the clutch i say get a kevlar clutch from clutch masters i got one and im very happy no slipping and it dont chatter bad at all it dont have too much diffrence in pedal pressure and kevlar last 3 times longer than ceramic or orgain clutches!!!! but exedy clutchmaster or competetion clutch or act is good and can be found on ebay for a decent price!!!! but i decide kevlar and im thinking i choose right!!!!!im in love with my clutche and flywheel!!!
get a stage two if you wanna drive it alot or if your using for track or just racing then go all the way! and i would probaly give the clutche a good 1000 mile break in of normal driving before you go to dyno tune it!and i say definetly replace it before you tune it on a dyno cause dynos are not nice to your car!!!!!!!!!you will probally destroy your motor if you dyno it with a bad clutch!!!!and if a tuner was wiling to dyno your car with a bad cluth i wouldnt trust him

^ It doesn't see the track and I do not do burnouts...
The reason I want light flywheel opinions is b/c i've read that some people much prefer a resurfaced oem due to keeping torque. I've been searching the site and saw many ups and downs which is why I asked.
I was thinking an 11 lb. flywheel? Seems to be the preference...
