Default h22a4 question...

quick question guys i have a bb6 h22a4 automatic.... my trans started to mess up on me and slip...

i'm looking to get another h22a4 automatic... but i can't seem to find any that are from a 97-01 prelude... they are seem like they are from lower years.....

question ... can i still use that same engine? even if its from a lower yr?

much appreciated guys

your post is a little confusing. are you looking for another auto tranny to replace the one in your car because its slipping? or are you looking for a engine? or engine and tranny?

Yeah the H22a1 engines will fit, but if it's older than a 9 (95 and older) then the motors going to be OBD1 and your car is OBD2. So you're either gonna have to reuse parts from your current h22a4 or do all that fun wiring stuff. As for the transmission.. Iono lol

If your transmission is slipping why not just replace it rather than replace the engine too?

lol.

Simplicity.

anyways, you should be able to easily pick one of those up from someone that did a 5spd conversion.

Are you planning on increasing the performance of your setup, or just looking to replace the auto for a good daily driver. Ther reason I ask is I'm wondering why you don't want to swap to a manual setup. Just curious.

I have one pulled from a '98 Auto with about 95k miles on it. PM me an offer if you're interested. I'm not sure how much shipping would be but it won't be cheap since the tranny is 150lbs or so.
