sleeve it, me personally wouldnt go more than 84.5 on it, im sure others would agree, they are weak and thin enough, why make them thinner?

It's not because they are thin, they are actually thinner sleeves in some other Honda engines. The problem is because the sleeves are all connected to each other where as in the B16/18 the sleeves are independent of each other. When a B20 sleeve cracks, it cracks along the connection to it's neighboring sleeve.

But, no you don't want to bore stock sleeves to 86mm.

never use stock sleeves if u are going over 85mm bore on a b20 block...

250whp can be possible with the 89mm crank, but it would be alot easier to achieve with a bigger crank....

the only reason to go 86mm on a B would be to accommodate larger valves. that said, has anyone simply notched the tops of their sleeves to allow for big valves with, say, ~84mm bore? it seems as though you'd hold HGs better than having bored the entire cyls to 86mm, and done properly, using larger valves can accommodate for more flow.

larger valves are a tricky thing
