Just installed AEM CAI for my R the other day. Shortly after driving it i noticed a rather annoying screeching/whine noise from about 2-4k in every gear. Its especially audible at 4th and you hit the gas going say 40mph. My old civic had a AEM CAI and didnt make this noise at all. Its more of a rubbing/screeching noise instead of the whirling sound that the intake makes. I checked over the entire pipe for possible rubbing and it looks good. Anyone have similar problems or encounter this sound? Please help!

 

there is a whistle that occurs...kind of earpiercing at times.

 

All R's do it. Even with the stock box. Its just baffled enogh you do not hear it. Its not the CAI, its the butterfly that produces those whistleing sounds at partila throttle.No big...

 

It sounds more like a screeching or some sort than a whistle. Also my stock box didnt make a sound even close to this. Any of you with the AEM get this sort of sound from the low to mid rpm range?

 

My AEM CAI does the same thing, it just makes a whistle noise, I have no idea why, but all AEM CAI's do it, and I have a K&N filter, I'm not sure if it's the filter or what exactly makes the noise. Very strange though. But I actually like the noise

 

it coulds be the intake rubbing on the A/C lines, i know that is a big probem with alot of people, mine was doin it so i wrapped the lines to protect them

 

My lines were first wrapped and now bet out of the way and it still does it. Filter gets cleaned every 3k with oil change. Done it since day one....
