Default quick question

ok so today i opened my hood and i see that my reservoir tank for the radiator had a hole in to it, like if it fell and got burnt with the header so now i have a hole into the little tank. So what i wanted to know is that if will anything happen if i ride around like this for a while. Cause i cant put no water into it and right now its empty. can something bad happen.

Ideally, you want your reservoir filled to the mark at all times...keeps engine temp at optimum or keeps it from overheating. What you can do is plug the hose that goes in the reservoir (so it doesn't leak) and make sure you have enough water/coolant in your radiator (for the time being).

you don't even need the overflow tank you could just take it out if you want too.

Agreed.

When the engine is running and if the coolant gets low in the radiator it pulls coolant from the overflow tank to keep the coolant system full and to keep air out. they are put there for a reason. not just to catch overflow.
