I've got an ITR b-pipe with no bottlenecks gone and Mugen twinloop axle back. 
x 100 million.

P.S. - that's with an aem cai, jdm 4-1 and a carsound to boot. aem is kinda loud though

There have been alot of posts on exhaust systems...
There have been alot of posts on exhaust systems...
Listen to what people have to say about certain exhausts, loud, quiet, power...find conflicting stories and make your own judgements..
I havn't tried any exhaust on my teg yet, but people like me yell out names like RSR and Apexi all the time. Do some research, then ask specific questions on the one you like

You want performance?
Hytech, SMSP, Kakimoto-R, Spoon N-1 with Type-1 B pipe, Or you could have a good exhaust shop build you one and slap on Magnaflow Res. and Can.
You want looks and sound?
Most everything else.
Watch for bottlenecks and be sure to have mandrel bent piping and proper diameter for your motors exhaust flow.
BTW, this topic IS the Dead horse, up there with "Which intake should I get?" Try Searching ALOT!!!

I have a Zigen Fireball Rear Section. It's an easy direct bolt on that looks and sounds killer. Oh yea, and i got it for under $250 shipped. It has a very modest sound even with a CAI. I got it at morepoweracing.com , they have free shipping. Hope this helps..........Leo

Comptech is the same size as stock, it did nothing for my car, what a waste of $500 
Best to research exhaust sizing, going blindly on recommendations is what I did and my exhaust system got screwed. I/H/C/E only 168whp That's what happens when you don't size your exhaust correctly.
By the way I'm a definite supporter of SMSP, 2.5" tubing with no bottlenecks. Perfect match to a 2.5" JDM-sized header.

BTW here's my dyno. You can see my torque take a nose dive in the high end. That's the 2.25" Comptech choking off my high end gains I should have seen with the DC JDM 4-1 (2.5"). Research is key to success, I now realize how ridiculous this exhaust setup is and am dumping it.

If I were to go to a muffler shop and have them make me a 2.5" catback exhaust, mandrel bent with 2 resonators and a magnaflow muffler, would it still put out good gains and be a quiet system?

There should be a sound file for the Kakimoto-R for the DC2-R
It is deep in tone and not raspy. It comes in both a 60mm and 70mm piping diameter mandrelled bent and fully stainless catback.
One thing, that sound file works once in awhile. But if you do a search, I believe there was a user on this board by the name FusionITR who posted up the sound file a few weeks back of this exhaust on his car!

WHy you worry about the noise of the Exhaust.. I have Apex N1 and there is nothing wrong with it.. IT is nice tone and aggressive sound but when you push the gas down all the way, of course the exhaust sound going to be loud.. Just Drive normal and the exhaust wont be loud.. GOsH!!!!
