Default SOHC - Turbo Vs. N/A

what up ya'll! im starting this topic cuz i hear everyone going back and forth about how n/a is better than turbo (im for the turbo sohc. yea!) but i want to hear input for all u car fans out there.

currently im build a turbo single cam del sol for endurance racing.
t3/t4 turbo .50 A/R
h beam rods
forged pistons still debating on comp ratio 9:1 or 10.5:1
custom head work
and so on

IMO if i wanted to build on my sohc and wanted to make a drag car, i would get a turbo for it. but since i plan on autoxing and tougeing, im going with n/a b16a so i have the power right away instead of waiting for turbo lag.

Na sohc's are pretty slow n/a and the only way to make power on them is to boost. I'm happy with my D15b but would also be happier with boost.

A smaller turbo will have less lag, but I think that's kinda common knowledge these days.

As for your piston selection, I'd go with the 9:1

To get any real powaaaa out of a SOHC you have to boost it, simple as that.

go with the 9:1 set up...less comp. means more you are able to boost it with out it going "POP"

I would have said go turbo on a SOHC since there's no hope for NA on these motors.

However, you mentioned "ENDURANCE RACING". Go NA. Swap a motor in. Keep it NA. Buy an H22. Keep it NA.

I'm guessing there are no mod. resistrcitions in your class since you want to slap on a turbo kit. Swap in a motor that breezes through 200hp instead of making a small, under equipped motor try to push out big numbers.

ENDURANCE is the key word in "endurance racing". For the price of headaches and other crap that comes up to make a reliable enough turbo setup, you could just go H22 or B series.

yeah, a turbo single cam for endurance racing?
why not swap a ls and run a smaller turbo....

and no one will argue with you to build a N/A SOHC, a NA B-series is a better comparison.
