Default Should I Look for a new Tranny?

Ok so right before I pulled my engine (B16A w/B16A2 hydro tranny) I noticed that while the clutch was out I would hear a "tap tap tap tap" like something rattling back and forth in my tranny while the clutch was NOT engaged. Once I pressed the clutch pedal in the noise would go away, but as time went on the tranny started to get harder to shift and wanted to pop out of gear, I was thinking It was a bad clutch, but is this a tranny problem?

I need to know if I should get a new tranny before I drop my new setup in, because I don't feel like pulling a tranny 3 weeks after I put my brand new motor in

But wouldn't it make noise while the clutch was in if it was the TOB?

Ok if it's a TOB then it's no prob because i've got a brand new clutch and TOB and pilot bearing ready to go in. Just making sure that it's not ISB before i throw the whole thing back in.

Dude......You have the engine out. Pop the friggin' tranny off and see for yourself instead of guessing over the internet.

It's the ISB, or at least inside the trans. the noise goes away when you step on the clutch. If it was the TOB, you would have noise while off the clutch. I'd replace all the bearings while its out.
