Default Progress Anti Sway Bar

I just picked one up the other day for the rear and would like some input on the bar as well a pic of it installed so I can get an idea of how the brackets attach to the frame and lca's. The instructions which came with the bar aern't very clear. Thanks.

i installed on my 91 crx si about a month ago. The instructions suck, and they give you all kinds of hardware you arent gonna need.

The brackets that hold the sway bar bushings use the lower control arm bolt and there is supposed to be some tapped unused hole above it but on my crx there wasnt.

So out comes the mig welder, they even tell you to weld in the mounts for the most strength in the manual.

I can take some pix tomorrow if you want,

Aside from the installation i think the bar is alright, especially if you paid $0 like me . Its not too much if you are just gonna do the rear. I like adjusting things also so later on i will make myself some adjustable end links.

Isn't S/T rear sway bars supposed to be the best out there? I plan on getting that one.

nah, mugen is the best out there. fits like stock.

actually i think neuspeed makes a pretty darn good rear swaybar for Si's that fit in the stock brackets too.

i think i heard tanabe is good too.

all are more expensive. ST is just good for the buck.

if your racing no bigger bar.. If not, just city, get it.
It improves highway driving. More solid feel.

I must agree.

I like my 24mm progress bar and you can adjust it much easier than the ST( or at least the old style). The progress bar slides instead of having to completely unbolt it like the ST.

i had the progress sway bar on my dx rex for a couple months. installation was easy but i didnt like how the brackets are supossed to be welded for maximum effeciency. I took it off and sold it . It helped the back end stiffen up but then again i dont like to turn while im going at a high rate of speed. I think im going to get ST later on.

like stated below the swaybar is mounted on the subframe and doesnt use the stock locations for the crx.

this swaybar is actually universal for 89-93 civics and integras i believe

This install is a Pita just because you have to remove your exhaust, drill new holes and use their nutsert, a lot of little washers/nuts/bolts and i also had to undo my UCA and LCA.

My suspension setup is quite different and it possibly could have made things a little harder for me, 96 itr 4x114 swap, and SPC rear lcas which are like an inch shorter than oem.
After swaybar was installed i only got to drive it for a week so i dont have much input on the swaybar.

Drilled one side of subframe and installed nutsert

you use a bolt and nut on the nutsert. instructions should have a picture and it should look like this afterwards.

Sway bar fixed to LCA: Also, those end links will wear (you will hear knocking sounds at the rear), so expect to change them eventually. I do alots of track but I guess if you just do street driving, it won't wear as fast.

Bracket on subframe: I had to weld the bracket on because it broke with the bolt style fixation! You should also seam weld the subframe abit (around the area where the bracket is welded. It can rip it! This is permanent so don't think about selling the sway bar later.

Big front sway bars in FWD cars can make it understeer more.

That bracket is hilarious. It must twist like a mother Fer.

not if you have stiffer rear spring rates with a stiffer rear bar as well.
