Default Help Identify This Block Code

I was browsing around through the junkyard a few days ago, and a new hatchback made it in. I checked it out and it still had the motor in it, a CX body with a single cam vtec motor in it, i wiped away a little bit of grim and the block code was as follows:

A A A
2 2
2 2

Of course that is no block code that I have ever seen, it is stamped in the block very well, almost like OEM...very interesting if anyone knows what's up, please help me out. Thanks.

Looks like it might be engine bearing codes?

Why would it be in place of where the original "d16z6" should be?

Yea, pretty interesting, there is no sign of the original block code, it appears as if this was the original block stamp. I thought at first maybe the block was just stolen and griding down smooth to get rid of the block code, but I ditched that theory since most thief's arent going to re-stamp it

If I remember right, CX's are the lightest hatch you can find cause they were the gas miser cars. Something like a whopping 70 hp. I'd snap it up if you can and swap out the motor.

Well, it's in a junkyard so who knows how much they want for it, if it's just a d16z6 then probably not worth my time, but if it's something special, i'd go pull it.

I tried to get one with my cell phone but of course, my crappy camera wouldn't pick it up.
