I'm betting that I'll need a valve job since I snapped my timing belt while driving. If I get the head ported and polished while its off will there be any noticable gains in performance, or would it be better just to replace any bent valves and go on? It is a D17A2 after all. Any other internal mods worth it while it's undergoing surgery?

Depends on how bad the piston slapped the valve, if you bent a valve then you will need all new valves and stuff in the head, if you do go porting the head you wont really gain any real power, maybe 2-3 the most, our cars dont respond to anything unless you boost or swap or bottle feed em. those are the only way you will make any real power, hope ur valves are alrigth.
