Turbo H22 in an Integra is a SICK setup. With just little boost, it can make some crazy power. Although, I heard its not too cool with the twisties.

Turbo+h22=lot's of tourqe. More than you could extract from b series anyways. Seen H22's in tegs before. I think Hasport sells motor mounts for that setup. It's more difficult install than b-series but it would rip like no other.

I dunno, I wouldn't bend over backwards to get the H22 when you can build up a B series and increase the boost a little to make the same power without the nose-heavy weight penalty.

do the swap first get use to the steering and torque. Then after about 2-3 weeks you'll get use to the power then add the turbo

inlinepro swapped a h22 into an integra back in like '98. probably the first swap of its kind on the east coast. jules' car ran high 11's with a stock block.

The people that say an h motor in a civic/integra causes too much understeer have obviously never driven a car w/ the swap. Personally after driving a friend's car around for a day w/ the h22a, it definetly makes you want one over the b18c. The understeer is the LEAST of my concerns w/ the swap, there are countless other problems/hassles w/ the swap which is why people don't get them.

The obvious advantage is the awesome low end of the car. Step on it at just over 2k rpm, and it's like the b motor at 3k. Who wouldn't like the increased torque from the h swap...?? Anyway.. the swap definetly isn't for everyone. Yes, the h22a can make more power than a b18c, but how much power do you really need for a light fwd car?

my friend has an h22 in a 92 civic dx and that thing is fast. the head is milled to increase compression. that thing runs 13.4 with full interier and slicks, 13.8 with street tires. burn out in second gear is so fun.

the only problem we encounter with the H22 motor into a civic or integra are the axles. you have to get them custom and when you mess with factory ones to get shortened and switch splines, they snap like there's no tomorrow. i guess the best way around it is to get some aftermarket chromoly ones because stock axles will not hold. we break so many with street tires.

The engine also 'leans' in the opposite direction, from my experience. Just random info

Dude, it's still a 4 cylinder. Without a turbo it's not going to be THAT fast lol.

Yeah, axles are definetly a serious problem. People seem to break axles all the time w/ the h swaps.. Just a couple other problems w/ them are...

1. Tranny sucks, does not like shifting at high rpms..
2. You have to drop the motor to do any serious work because it sits so close to the driver's side shock tower
3. No a/c (maybe not a problem for some people)
4. Place racing pass. side mount breaks
5. Not nearly as many parts available as B series.
6. More of a pita to work on
7. Oil pan sits very low
8. Lots of vibrations because of the motor mounts

Those are some of the problems w/ the h swaps.. With all the parts available for the b series motors, H swaps are much less practical.

he ran at maple grove. the car is sold now. he broke axles twice and the tranny once. there's an article in sport compact cars on the whole swap. not sure which issues but it was a while back. check out there web site.

A turbo H22 is worth the money. My boosted Prelude had soo much torque (for a honda I mean) which made the car very easy to drive fast without going over 4k.

i got a buddy with a 99 gsr swaped it out for a jdm h22a, all i got to say is damn, that **** is fast as hell for being all stock runs 13.9's all day long on with nothing other than intake and tanabe exhaust, stock headers, i drove it and it dosent have any understeer problems cause a teg is pretty heavy, the motor sits in nice like it was meant for the car. i got two tegs one 98 ls/vtec turbo and the other 97 poorman type r , i'm considering an h22a swap for myself
