Default Valve springs ?

i have to take out my valve springs to fix a ticking noise in my valvetrain. Can i put in skunk2 tuner series valve springs and titanium retainers with stock cams becuase oem replacement springs will be the same price if not more so i might as well get better srpings no ? and can you replace the springs with out taking off the head ?

uhm im actually installing springs in my head right now too. my head is off though and it looks like (from my experience) you do have to take off the head.

You do not have to take the head off. They make overhead spring compressors. Use air pressure to hold the valves up.

You can use stiffer springs with stock cams just fine.

are you saying should you replace the broken springs with skunk2 springs. so in turn having a mix of oem springs a s2 springs. if so not a good idea. you want either all oem or all skunk2

If you have a ticking noise from the valvetrain why don't you just do a valve adjustment instead of replacing all your springs?

Skunk2 springs will work fine with stock cams.

Broken springs can definitely happen guys, but I honestly doubt this guy has one. If you do have one, whichever way you choose to fix it, make all of the springs uniform, don't use mix matched crap.

Stock valvesprings are different on either side, but most aftermarket sets are all the same.
