car vibrates while braking only
Does anyone know why it might be that my car vibrate when I brake. The steering wheel does not move, it feels like I'm running over little humps on the road. I notice it mainly at high speed braking incidents. I suspect it may be the brake disks, can anyone confirm or have an idea? Thanks.
somewhat same thing happend to me. had to get new brake pads and also the real reason was bc my rotors were so messed up i had to get new ones. you may be able to get your rotors resurfaced.
Hmm.. "That usually means you're not pressing down hard enough.."

Don't you just hate those....? I hate it when I mash the pedal and it just sounds like it shakes, or I just feel it in the pedal.. But in your case, you could pull the E-Brake on the highway for a few seconds and release it to help diagnose it. If you hear a bunch vibrating noises, your rear rotors/drums are probably warped too.
As for your fronts, I've seen it warp and not even shake the steering wheel, just the pedal pulsates.. But usually if the pedal just pulsates, it's because the rears are warped. In your case, take it to the pros..

No it doesn't have the shoes inside the rotor. If you pull the E-Brake on that model, it just pulls the cable at the end of the caliper, thus making it easier to diagnose warped rear rotors..
Good too know, thanks. So I guess I should not use the e-brake if the brakes are real hot may warp them locked with the pads in one spot on the rotor.
Your brakes aren't going to lock up or anything, at least I haven't seen it yet.. But regardless of what you do, if your rotors are warped, they're warped.. Can't post pone the warping (is that even a word) , if that's what you're trying to get at.
But do take the "apply e-brake on hwy" idea lightly. Don't crash or anything, I'm responsible for your wannabe behavior.. And don't pull to hard. Sometimes you'll hear the warped rear rotors, but yet you'll never feel them after resurfacing the front rotors.. It's sort of a trial and error ordeal at times.

when you're saying this, are you meaning the the rears as in rotors or drums?

Hmm.. Well, warped rear rotors or drums can cause a vibration while braking. It's usually easiest to diagnose warped rears by applying the E-brake while on the hwy. But, with some of the newer hondas, the E-brake is built into the rear rotor. Thus eliminating that way of diagnosing.
