Well...an 03 R6 isn't going to fetch much more than that unless you just happen to find someone who's only looking for the special paint scheme.

Holy sh*t you're in Rochester??? Nice bike, would you consider lowering the price at all without any of the gear? Not dead set on buying an r6 just curious, I hear they're not that great for beginner bikes

Edit: Just curious if it's just the rated 121hp that makes this bike a poor choice for a beginner rider? Where's the power band set at? Would this be a poor choice for a commuter?

This was actually my first motocycle although I have been racing motocross for close to 5 years now. The power band is more on the upper range. I take any chance I can to ride this bike back and forth anywhere I can. I think it's great for commuting. I'm willing to drop the price a little bit if you didn;t want the gear. I could always work somehting out.

Thanks for the comment man. Well, I would like to get rid of it now so I can buy my rsx-s. I know I know, it's not riding season, but either way I'm going to stick to the guns and hold that price.

not sure where you get the 121hp figures, but here in the real world...(not yamaha) we rate the bikes by power to the wheels, which is right around 100hp.

Oh sorry not sure, I just looked up the specs and that's what it said...I know it's not to the wheels but I didn't know everyone took their bikes to the dyno

No offense man but why can't you say that and put a reason behind it? I mean I see you on these forums a lot and granted I've only had one summer experience thus far, but am I really completely incapable of ridnig this machine and guaranteed to wreck it? I already said I knew it wasn't a beginner bike, and people would rather post sh*t like this rather explain why.

It isn't practical to weigh your options when you find a cheap bike locally? Even if it is an R6 asking those questions may be noobish but generally important to know. Slightly higher hp than my F2 with a similar power band...but lighter and fuel injected. Guess what? I don't race, I don't try to drag my knee, I drive like a granny, wear all my gear, and consider others on the road, so you can f*ck off with your assumptions.

Free bump for OP

They're not good beginner bikes because they respond quickly, almost too much so, to steering inputs. They also have a relatively high seat, which as we know from your previous post, is a point to consider.

Egglover is just lookin' out for ya.

Thanks, it's appreciated, just not a fan of others telling what they can or cannot do. I realized it was above a 32" seat height, I actually sat on a few at the stealership, if I bought one it'd definetely have to be lowered but a 2003 for $4300 isn't shabby at all

yea right? Well I see some bike sand it seems like they are asking for a ridiculous amount of money. I see an '02 trying to get like $5200, and an '04 with madddd miles for $6K. Seems like these prices are way out of hand so I'm trying to solve that lol.

KBB value on an 02 r6 with around 10k is roughly $5200... i dont see this being out of hand... i bought my 02 r6 in july for $5k...

and this is my first bike, and it is a great bike! excellent handling, powerful, and very comfortable!

Dude, Eglovr, it's sad we're suppose to be in this together and the most I get from you is don't say I told you so??? The only reason you **** me off is becuase you didn't explain why, you just assume because I'm inexpienced and asking "dumb" questions that I have no idea what I'm doing.

News flash, it doesn't take a f*cking neuro-surgeon to ride on two wheels, whether it's 30hp or 120hp, everybodies different. There are plenty of people in here who STARTED on an R6 and I personally know plenty of people who started on R6's...don't generalize with your assumptions and assume your way is the only way. I started on an F2, sold it, and now I either want another 6 or just a 250 to commute...I guess I'm an idiot for looking at an affordable R6 right down the road from me
