If you think he should turn these guys in.....

Then you should turn everyone in that is running a test pipe on their street car...

Or running jdm headers....

or an OBD1 conversion....

Or smoke weed or drops E....

See where this is going? Everyone has friends that break the law in some way or another, some more serious.

This guys hasn't stolen anything or recieved any stolen property knowing it was stolen...that we know of.... so just let it be... or turn him in, or turn the rest of your friends in.

 

shrug. Of course its his decision. but posting it on h-t and seeing how other h-t members feel about the subject may change his mentality.

honestly though, if you knew who committed something like a murder, I hope your mentality is not the same

If I knew someone that commited a murder, I would definetly turn them in. No doubt about that.

But I know lots of people with test pipes, lots of people that smoke weed, a few people that sell it, and a few other "crimes" that don't directly hurt anyone, and I would never think to turn all those people in. Hell I have even broken the law.

I guess I don't even know what point I am trying to make is, but I don't think this guy is legally bound to do anything.

I mean if he didn't know they were going to steal that car, or that they even steal cars, then he has no proff of what he saw is stolen property. One can assume it is, and even I do, but that doesnt make him an accessorie to the crime, or aiding and abeiting either.

 

I disagree George, who makes the decisions as to what laws are reportable? You? 0187? What determines what crimes should be reported? For instance, some people here smoke weed(NOT MYSELF MAY I ADD), I am sure they BUY it from someone, when are they goig to turn in this DRUG DEALER??? Much worse than a car thief IMO. Although a car thief is a scum sucking pig and should be slaughtered.

See what I am getting at? Who dtermines what should or shouldn't be reported?

If they are "friends" - he would be wise to find other "friends" that don't sell/buy/use stolen goods.

Now that he's seen what he wasn't suppose to see - means that if they get reported - he's their patsy.

None of that really hurts anyone, OK the drugs hurt the user but it's his life to do with as he wishes.

Car thieves hurt all of us. Not only is some poor ITR owner without his car, but all of our insurance rates go up because they're so popular to steal. The company I first insured my ITR through charged me more than a C5 Vette (after they quoted me half that amount) because of the theft rates. It took a lot of shopping around to get a decent rate.

As far as turning in felons, while it may be the law whether or not I'll do it is dependant on what crime it is. If they're breaking a law that I don't think should exist in the first place, I won't turn them in. Call me what you want, but it seems to me that our forefathers did the exact same thing, in fact rebelling is an American tradition.

 

Car thieves are worse than drug dealers by a lot. A drug dealer does nothing to anybody, all thier customers are there of thier own free will. A car thief imposes his will on other people by taking something that doesn't belong to him.

Depends on the drug. In the entire history of the human race not one person has died from using marijuana.

Also tobacco kills about 1000 times as many people each year than all illegal drugs combined.

Selling drugs kills people? Since when? I know for a fact cigs and alcohol kills people, go ride on Malbros (sp?) *** and Miller when you get a chance because those two kill tens of thousnds of people a year. How many does bud kill??? I'm still alive, until you know the effects of drugs and understand how the US drug policy works and how they spread misinformation and propaganda then you can have a conversation with me.

I love the new commercial about "terrorism" and "drugs" one of my all time favs.

OK, I am not even going to argue here. This is my last post on the subject.

A) I hate thieves as much if not more than anyone.

B) You are CRAZY if you think a car thief is worse than a DRUG DEALER.

C) DRUG DO KILL.

D) I think the kid is scared and to be categorized as no better than thief is unfair.

Sorry to disagree with you guys but, I do. That doesn't mean I don't think a car thief is a piece of garbage because, I do.

Edit: In case people do not already know BUD is NOT the only kind of drug. There are many that are MUCH MUCH worse. Like heroine, crack, etc. I bet these are good too and probably kill noone? I must be a square cuz, I don't do drugs.

By impairing their actions and reactions, causing poor judgement.

 

Selling drugs is considered a felony depending on the amount the person has in their possesion when they are cought.

Possesion of a controlled substance can be a felony as well. I KNOW from personal experience, and I only had .2 grams of meth on me when I was convicted of a felony....in my teen years.

Possesion of stolen property can be both a felony and a misdemeaner. Stealing cars is almost always a felony.

This guy hasn't said if those guys said that THEY stole those parts, so they haven't addmitted to commiting a felony.

You can come to my house right now, and find a FULL ITR SWAP in my possesion.
If you asked me where I got it, I would tell you "Dont worry about it" or "dont ask"

their assumption is that drug production IN OTHER COUNTRIES (e.g. Columbia, Mexico, Thailand) kills people in the countries of their origin. What they are saying is DRUG CARTELS and DRUG DEALERS kill people.

Its ok as long as you are doing it right?

Maybe there isnt a case where weed was the cause of someones death, but I bet there are cases when someone under the influence of weed has wrecked his car or made bad judgement causing injury to someone else.

Something doesn't have to kill/hurt YOU to be deadly.

If some of you would take the ITR badge off of your forehead you would realize that the world doesn't revolve around ITRs and the thieves who steal them.

heres what it comes down to:

drug dealers: bad. turn them in or guide someone anonymously in their direction so they are caught.

car theifs: bad. beat their heads in with hard solid objects, kick em a few times...spit on them and then turn them in to the proper authorities with no doubts, friends or not. If the guy is stealing cars or car parts he is a big ******* piece of **** and if you dont turn him in, well you should have your *** beaten in too for allowing cars to be fucked with. A man's automobile is sacred and if you know someone who is messing with another man's automobile, it is your duty as a man to **** him up or turn him in...and if you **** him up, it is also your duty to take pictures with your digital camera and post them on honda-tech

 

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'd really like to know why you think a person who doesn't do anything to anybody (the dealers don't make thier customers use drugs) is worse than someone who steals peoples pride and joy. It just doesn't make sense to me, I guess I'm too conservative to think that way.

Of course those are bad for you. But like I already said, tobacco kills 1000 times as many people as all those drugs put together.
