where are you guys connecting braces to gt42r/S372?
Where are you guys connecting braces onto the damn turbo? Both sides are vbands. I was thinking about welding tabs to the housings but maybe ask you guys first and see if you guys have an easier solution.
thanks
thanks

that was my original idea and that will probably be what I end up doing.

for smaller turbos with tighter housing bolt patterns people have used the 034 brace flanges

that wouldn't work on the turbo's mentioned. they both have vband connections, no bolts.

I'm not baller status enough to run F-R stuff though
I was contemplating not running a brace but that sucker is 42 pounds. That's a lot of weight compared to a t04S sized turbo.

very true, that's why I have an S372 instead, because I'm not ballin enough to afford a gt42r

theres a sequential gt42r kit for duramax's that use the oil drain bolt holes to mount the brace. i can't remembe if the drain and the brace were one though.

Should have purchased an HKS T51R turbo so you don't need a brace
The T51R and 42R are similar, but the HKS unit weighs 20 lbs

How about proven with trap speeds.

I know tony picked up a lot of power but I believe he's race compressor housing on his borg warner as well. I'm running a standard cover.
Well, the 372 is a 72mm turbo compared to the 42 which is only a 70mm, of course it is going to make more power. The 372 with the standard 9" compressor cover flows 94lbs/min, almost 10lbs more than the 42.
