Rear lights are acting up!?!?
I just bought a 1990 civic 4dr lx for a dd and it didnt come with no light bulbs in the rear ( turning signal, brake lights, lights) etc. So i went out to a local auto part store bought some light bulbs and when i put them in, it lights up by itself. No key is in, no power is on or anything, i just simply put in the light bulb and it lights up by itself. It does this to all the sockets besides the turning signal socket? is there a electrical problem somewhere or whats wrong?

Probably the brake light switch..
There is a rubber piece adjacent to the brake pedal...

people are saying that there light dont even go on, but in my case, the light turns on even when there no power on, no keys in ignition no nothing, i just put the bulbs in the socket and BLING! it lights up! ???????????????????
ok if i went out and hit my brakes with nothin turned on my break lights will light up just unhook the switch and see what happens then jump the plug with a piece of wire and i bet the brake will light up
geez 88dx crx is right there isprobably nothing pushing the switch on the highest part of the pedal...... check that this has been covered numerous times use the SEARCH BUTTON BEFORE posting new thread!!!!!

funny how they just took the light bulbs out as the only apparent fix for them... lol.
