dont know if it matters but the car is a 93 cx.

I finished swapping in my b18 swap and cranked the car up, it ran as long as there was fuel in the fuel rail and quit. I didnt see the fuel gauge move so I figured it was out of gas. added 2 gallons of gas and no go. then I noticed I didnt hear any fuel pump whine at all.

I'm thinking that since the car had no drivetrain in it when I got it that probably the fuel pump/sending unit is bad and I'll have to swap the setup from my 93 dx into it to get it running. but on the off chance that the fuel pump relay is missing from the car (previous owner took lots of weird random things off the car) I would check that first. Is it under one of the seats?? or in the fuse panel under the hood??

never really needed to check before and it got too dark on me by the time I wanted to look around for it.

 

next/under to the front driver side seat. by the gas/trunk latch, is where the relay is.

 

search "main relay"
if you hear it click there's no need to take it out.
but if you turn the key and hear no clicks, it would be my first stop.
