Brake fluid recommendations
What brake fluid would you guys recommend?
My ITR is used for daily driving and a couple autocrosses a month. I would like something that is locally available.

I like Motul RBF 600 because it's fairly inexpensive ($10-12 for a half-liter bottle) and its boiling point is 57 degrees higher than ATE - that's a BIG difference.
Here are the dry and wet boiling points for many of the most popular brake fluids:

just avoid to use anyting thats more than DOT3
ur break system will be fine~ coz DOT4&5 have
too much silicon which will kill ur tubes and seals
and very soon ur breaking system will die~!
for street, autoX & road race DOT3 is more than
enough already. DOT4&5 are just wasting of ur $
and killing ur system.

DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 fluids are worth getting because they have higher boiling temperatures than DOT 3, so they won't boil at temperatures where DOT 3 will boil.

It doesn't apply to DOT 4, either. DOT 5 is silicone (not silicon) based brake fluid, or SBBF. DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 are non-SBBF.
I have noticed that you have to change Motul more often, which is why it's on the bottom of my suggestion list.. Kenji doesn't (well hasn't yet) tracked his car so there is absolutely no need for such fluid.. Ford chit or Castrol LMA are my two suggestions for his needs with ATE Gold/Super Blue (if found) when he starts tracking the car, or motul since you should change it every event anyways.

After all, its boiling point is still higher than other brake fluids, even after a while as it accumulates moisture.
I'm not saying that changing brake fluid often isn't a good idea. I'm just saying that Motul doesn't need to be changed any more often than any other fluid.
And you CERTAINLY don't need to change it every event. I've gotten great results with Motul by flushing it once a year, at the start of each track season (roughly April-October).

-Ben, who's brakes feel "mushy" after an hour on the track Saturday and just flushed with Valvoline Synpower from stock Honda fluid on Friday.
