How many of you guys are using the 4.9 final drive setups for your all motor car? Has anyone experimented with changing your first to a longer gear?

 

we used a 5.08 with a taller 1st and it worked well.

 

Quite a lot of people have changed to a 4.7 and a 4.9 from the stock 4.4 and noticed good improvements. It really just depends on your setup.

As for the longer 1st gear, less wheelspin and greater speed going into 2nd gear is always a

4.7 here on an h2b setup - 23 inch tall tire.

 

4.785 here in a B16B tranny. Car builds revs like a bike now .
