Default emission help

i know some of you guys have had this problem but my emissions failed. apparently there was too much carbon monoxide at cruise. im pretty sure that just means the catalytic converter isnt working right. im assuming this because i dont have a cat in my car. its ls/vtec turbo with 3 inch straight pipe exhaust. any help?

yeap, thats your problem right there.. Get a cat so you can pass.. But if anything, if you want to make sure you pass and you have a cat.. Get new spark plugs, spark plug wires, change the oil, run some sea foam.. and than drive out on the local roads for a good 15-30 mins drive so that you can make your car HOT.. but thats if you do have a cat.. My friend passed emissions here in CT with a start pipe and a ES tuning exhaust.. i dont know how he passed but i can ask him later for you.. Good luck though

bye a test pipe that is same size as a cat install cat go get smog check then go home and slap the test pipe on LOL. this way next time smog comes you can easily change your test pipe to cat and then back again!!!!or just weld some flanges on a straight pecice of pipe the same size as your cat then use that instead of test pipe...or better yet move to a state or city that does not have deq
