Default Smashed headlight...easy fix?

My son hit a deer with his 1997 Prelude. Cleanly smashed out the plastic lens on left headlight assembly. Trying to save him the $$ of buying a replacement assembly for now -- and thinking that there may be an easy/temporary fix:

Is it possible to purchase any sort of acrylic lens cover (preferably non-tinted) that we could simply epoxy over the broken assembly?

Any pointers or other ideas would be very appreciated...

Thanks,
Chuck

Do you have pictures? I don't think you can just purchase the lens. Your probaly just going to have to buy a new headlight. Same thing happened to me, had to get a whole new headlight.

Sorry, no pictures right now...imagine the headlight assembly with the clear plastic lens completely gone -- just a empty hole now with the bulb and inner reflector exposed to the great outdoors.

I was looking at something like this as a possible option. I thought I could trim it with a die grinder and epoxy it down to the old headlight assembly. Note that the picture of this thing is likely not really what they are selling (it's a generic photo).

Without pictures it's hard to say, but I would say you should try and find a used headlight on ebay or in the classifieds. Welcome to the site.

You can find a new set of Ebay projector lights for about 100-150 bucks. Not that bad.

better yet look for a replacement light in the fs section. You can probably pick one up for next to nothing. Honestly, it will probably cost you less than the materials to do what your thinking of.

What headlights did you buy? I'm going to take a guess here that they are probably some eBay specials and will be better installed in the trash can.

I may have an extra driverside headlight lense sitting either in my closet or out in my garage. If you can post some pics, it'd be a little easier to tell you if your light is still salvageable or not
