Auto-X Street Tire Pressures
I've asked this before, but the search doesn't seem to go back that far.
What do you guys recommend for street tire pressures for auto-x for '90 CRX Si?
Hope to auto-x my CRX for the 1st time this weekend!

Start with 45psi front and 35psi rear. DO NOT mess with ANYTHING between runs. Just learn to drive and have FUN. It took me until my third event to change shocks/psi. You really won't know what will work until you learn to drive. If you are understeering like mad, take about 5psi out of the front/add 5psi to the rear. ONLY if the car feels like ****. You'll LOVE it. JMO, Overkll

I agree with most of the above, but when it comes to your starting pressures and your adjustments, we're about opposite. 45/35 is going to understeer like mad. I used to run (ignore the pressures since they're race tires, but look at the F/R difference) 40/36, and I slowly moved my way through 38/36, 38/38, 38/40, and eventually ended up in the 35-36/37-38 range. This was the only way to get the car to rotate properly (on stock suspension FF). As for adjustments, you'll see that I go by 2's. 5psi will make a huge difference, and you'll likely overshoot. There are days where I did make 5psi jumps, but that came from experience knowing that I was way off (caused by things like cold, rain, ice, sand, etc.).
Also, not all street tires are created equal. What are you running?
when i ran my crx i also did 45 front and 35 rear. after racing for a few years my brother and i built up an 87 crx si for ep and put some racing slicks on it. even those have more pressure in the front then in the rear. the only thing you can do to stop the crx from nose diving and plowing through the corner is to do it right. it helps to disconnect the front stabilizer bar, but you can't do that in stock. so just pick a good psi to start with and just try to find a good line to follow when racing.

i was told to start off at 40psi and lower it according to how much roll you have on the tires, like if you dont have very much roll on the back tires (the wear doesnt reach a certain point on the tread on the side) then lower the tire pressure on that tire. A bunch of people told me that last autoX i went to.
I have KYB/AGX's and Skunk2 400/300. I just use full stiff in the rear and it rotates pretty well. I'm still new, but I was pretty happy with 45/35. But people need to make sure they have a GOOD tire pressure gauge or you don't REALLY know what psi you are at. Later, Overkll
BTW, I'm running

Chalk up the tires to ensure you aren't rolling onto the sidewalls.
I followed some strange sounding advice I read here and ran 36psi all around on Azenis and loved the rotation I got and actually scored my first 1st place (a bastard in a modified WRX has kept me in 2nd place for two years now, Street Mod).
Mind you, I'm a pretty good local autocrosser and don't scrub the tires like a newbie. If you're a novice, you'll want higher pressures to protect the tires from going into corners too fast.
