got another hatch-and stripped it to the bone
i am originally a small block chevy guy, but then i took a ride in a boosted civic(not a stolen one) and was blown away about how much power came from such a small motor. so a couple of years ago i got an 88 hatch, it was a pile of crap. i fixed it up a little and just drove it for fun hoping one to to build something way badass, last month i got another one 200 bucks, it was just a way bigger piece of crap and was covered in APC and pep boys junk. i decided to gut it to the bone and make a drag car out of it, but still drive it on the street. dont have many pics right now but i will keep ya posted
here it is
i guess that is white primer on the car, someone did a terrible job on it, but at least the body is pretty straight.

cleaned and painted engine bay-and stripped it down some more-sorry bad pic-

not real sure what the hell this is? sorry attempt at filling the groove? probably gunna put fiberglass fenders on and stock body moulding back on, maybe some jdm bumpers.

ya gotta love the ebay coilovers! probably gunna go with tokico, they seem reasonable and i have heard good things bout them

still stripping sound deadener off the floorpan anyone got any ideas on doing that faster??, but i got a skeleton for the dash welded in and finshed the aluminum dash for, and got the aluminum doorpanels done. after the aluminum is done it all has to come back out for the cage. this should be fun, i have never done one in a honda, if anyone have pics of a good cage it would help out quite a bit. thn all the interior gets paint.

I used some computer dusters from wal-mart to remove my tar floor mats. Just hold the can upside down, some liquid will come out that's really cool. Once it's cool hit it with a rubber mallet and pick at the rest it with a flat head screw driver. Or you could do this with dry ice or just chisel it.

Whenever you scrape it off you are putting scratches in the metal. Beating it with a rubber mallet doesn't do anything to the metal unless you hit it too hard. And also when heat the mats up and scrape them you will definitely have more of the mat left over then if you just used the dusters/dry ice. One last thing Gas lines+propane torch=chance of dying a horrible death.
