Default shift linkage repair?

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to repair shift linkage?

The cable on the right (as you look at the shifter itself) has a break in the cable about 2-3 inches from the bolt on point. The braided wire is still intact, its only the single wire inside the braided.

I've considered several ideas, but figured I'd ask the experts before I try.

thanks

Replace only.

I wouldn't try any normal cable repair tricks, the trans is very sensitive to slight changes in the cables' movement, and you might tank a set of syncros if you mess it up even slightly.
