Shop to do a tranny conversion?
im looking for a good shop to do a auto to 5speed conversion for my 98 integra. i called around and this is what some shops offer in dallas area:
jotech: $850
intercrew: 2000 w/ parts
alamo: $6500 w/ parts - wtff! that more than the damn car is worth...
redline: $400
not sure of what shops trust and wanna know who yall suggest to do the job.
im thinking about putting either gsr tranny in the car but maybe an ls for boost later on.

i just finnished the 5 speed conversion. redline is known for quality work, and after doing this myself, it's deff worth $400. if you want to do it RIGHT, plan on spending around 1500 on parts alone.
or you could do almost everything urself, and what u can't do have the shop do.Example: im sure u can install a trans....so take the auto one out, put in a clutch and flywheel, put the shifter in and change the center console, new ecu. thats all easy enough where u can do it and save on labor, now for installing the clutch master cylinder and drilling for the new clutch petal, i wouldn't want to do that so i would then take it to the shop.

its a pain in the *** but by no means hard, just time consuming. And you don't have to drill to put in the clutch pedal, there is a plastic cap that you just pop out. If I were you I would learn how to do it on your own, save the $400 labor and spend it on an lsd or a 4.874 final drive.
some other things that would make your life easier, don't replace the whole gas/brake pedal assembly, just swap the manual brake pedal for the auto one.
search around and you will find everything you need. I did the whole swap using a haynes manual and some logical thinking.
here is a good parts list https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1255332
