can i use another alternator off another vehicle? is any other one compatible?

 

92-96 preludes and...some accords I believe aswell. Some one else will know for sure. There are lots of other models that can be interchanged though.

 

If you need one you should see if any aftermarket ones or performance ones are available. They are usually cheaper than Honda ones. But I take it your looking for a wrecker alternator

They will run you about 100$ usually with your core in exchange. Performance ones brand new might only run you 300$ to 400$ in some cases I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the pricing.

 

im mostly concerned about whether a D series or B series will work on it.. from either an integra or civic

I doubt B alternators will work, as they mount at the rear those engines.

 

I know explicit speed makes mounts to mount a d series alt on our motors, so I assume that it is different, although it may be more for the lower placement as well?
