Default Idle/misfire/backfire problem???

So today my car decided to start acting funny.... i started it and it went from 2k to 300rpm in like no time flat and than i would hit the gas pedal and it would just backfire and so forth.... I also would be at a light and when i would start to go it would hardly move until i hit about 2k..... It bogs down and **** ton and it wont do anything but backfire and it idles really low and rufff..... Any ideas

I'm having similar problems, and I believe the idle issue is your IACV, and your bogging issue has to do with your spark. Today I bought a valve cover gasket(had oil on my spark plug wires), plugs, and wires. And I'm going to clean my IACV tomorrow.

I'll let you know how it goes, and if it fixed any / everything.

A full tune up with plug wires is where you start. At night start the car get it running good at idle. Pull a plug wire and look down inside the plug well with the car still running and the plug wire still in the plug well but pulled up enough for the cylinder to stop firing, see if you notice sparks jumping from the plug wires to the inside of the well walls = bad wires.

seafoam it before replacing spark plugs, and make sure pcv and brake booster line are tight or you will get weird results and fluctuating idle

Your coil may be overheating later in the day with more dirving and more underhood heat, it is easier to fire a cylinder at higher RPM since the timing is advanced more and the compression is lower, higher compression is harder to ignite.

This sounds like an ignition issue. If you have a buddy with same dist. swap out the dizzys to confirm. It sounds like the ignitor, cap or rotor is actin up. No need to spend $$$$ untill you can confirm the fix. Id look into the map CEL regardless as this will cause many other issues,

I'm going to go with the MAP as well. It might be reading "well enough" for the most part and then spazzing sometimes. I had a similar problem when I had a loose wire on my 3 bar. The map goes blank and next thing you know you're pooring in tons of fuel and it does the sputter/backfire/bog/stall thing.

if you did all that and its still doing it, then something might be clogged somewhere or you have bent valves, time for a new head

Bent valves are intermittent? Go figure
