What rings and bearing brands do you guys recommend?
Well, the D15 I used to replace my D16y7 (not for performance reasons obvioustly) burns more oil now than the D16 did. I decided to rebuild the D16 which is sitting in my yard. I'm now looking to start to round up the parts. I dont really know what are good brands and what are garbage brands for these cars. (I'm a Chevy Camaro/truck guy and I'm just getting my nose into the Honda world.) What would you guys recommend for what I'm going to need? I'm basicly keeping it stock, cept for header and intake. Are there any little things I should do while its apart as far as little power boosters. i'm not looking for any race car by any means. Its a daily driver and I like my gas milage, so don't say high comp pistons or turbo. Just little things to add a few HP's. If there's nothing farely inexpensive to do, dont be afriad to say it. Thanks in advance.

Correct, BUT the cost of a complete turbo setup (done right) is much more money than the fuel it would save
Not to mention the fact that the extra power of a turbo would def. make MY mpg worse. It would be hard not to drive it like it's turboed, lol. Thanks anyway.
I've been doin a little research and found that ACL race bearings and NPR rings are both pretty good bands. Havn't found one bad remark about ACL bearings. Compared to the cost of OEM, these sound pretty good. I've found that quite a few engine reman. places use these bearings too with no complaints. Anyone have any thoughts on these brands compared to OEM?

Sorry dude, I know the parts are expensive, but even if you're building a high horsepower street motor you still can't get better bearings and rings than OEM. That may not be the case with Chevy, I don't know, but Honda excells at all the little wear-out parts, especially rings.

Did you guys know that the founder of honda started by making rings and rings only for motorcycles and racing back in the early days.
Ashaming that you guys don't know the history of the cars you hold so highly.
