Default Adding Cruise to 2003 DX-G: Whats needed?

My parents just got a 2003 DX-G, and they want cruise for it. I've searched, but haven't found anything really useful....but I'm new here, so hopefully I didnt miss something....please link me if there is an existing thread!

So essentially, I have found a cruise unit for sale locally, but it only includes the unit, nothing else. Now, I basically would like to make a list of everything necessary that I will need to get.

A few questions I have though:
-Will I be able to use the DX steering wheel? Or do I need one out of an Ex? (for the control buttons)
-Under the hood, can I still use all the Dx electronics, and just plug everything in?

Any other information would be appreciated!

You would need the Cruise Control Unit (for under the hood) with the throttle cable, the wiring harness, the dash button and relay, and most likely the steering wheel components for the Controls.

Thank you very much!

Are there any differences between throttle bodies then? Or will I be able to hook the cable straight to the Dx throttle body?....I'm assuming it runs to the throttle body as in older generation Civics....

You may need a new throttle body, but I am not sure, as I haven't seen a DX throttle body up close.

Thanks for your help!

I should be starting to get everything together for this in the coming weeks, I'll maybe bug one of my neighbors with an Ex and see how the throttle bodies compare hahaha.

Thanks for the input everyone, I'm waiting on a cruise unit form a guy on a local form, and can hopefully start gathering parts next time I'm home from school.

I'll try and make a DIY should I manage to do this successfully

throttle body is the same, but adding a factory cruise setup will be very difficult, mainly because youd have to do all of your own wiring. id consider an aftermarket alternative.

There are some aftermarket cruise control units available that work well, and for a much more reasonable price than the factory units. Check the yellow pages in your local phone book for sources.

I am still actively researching this, however a local shop quoted me $569 plus taxes and installation for an aftermarket unit. I believe I could do it a lot cheaper, but if it seems like I'll be over my head, or its going to be more of a pain then the savings are worth, I may go the aftermarket route.
