Autocrossing
So i went to an autocross event the other day and i thought it was the coolest thing. And am really interested in doing it with my car. I have a 94 honda accord sedan. Im sure prolly not the best car for weight or handleing, but its what i have to work with for now. So what would be the best bang for the buck mod i could do to get it to handle better? Any help would be appreciated thanks guys!
And what do you plan on building the car for? Daily driver, drag, track? any engine mods or suspension mods on it yet? I did an H22 swap in my 94 4door. Then I killed it and im starting over. now with a 95 and a 96. You gotta come up with your own ideas and then find help on how and where.
Leave it stock. First you need to take a real good look at the rulebook about modifications. You don't want to randomly buy upgrades because you'll unwittingly put yourself into a class where you're competing against really high-budget cars.
My brother did that when he changed a couple things on his 240-Z. Suddenly he was competing against cars that out-classed him by a wide margin. He was in school & couldn't afford to buy ALL the other upgrades that were allowed in his new class.

Yep, works on a point system.
I'm quite a fan of AutoXing and have posted up some pics (I've got some new ones).
Take a look at the rule book before you do anything.
For example the Accord will start out in a class (forgot what it was) if you do an H22 swap, AND nothing else, you jump to the prelude stock class which is STS.
Then say you do suspension (matters what kind you get) you'll add a few points.
You remove rear seats/panels , you'll add a few points.
Strut bars / sway bars , you'll add a few.
Eventually you'll max out your class and have to move up. BUT you'd be competing possibly with much better cars like JimBlake said.
I'll pull up my results and tell you the examples.

1st- do normal maintainance(sp) wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods, etc., ect
2nd- practice
3rd- practice
4th- practice... and have someone with expierence drive your car and see what times they get, that'll give you an idea of how good your skills are
5th- check rulebook
Then start doing mods. Decent tire should be first on the list, followed by spring/shocks
Power isn't the most important thing here, but if you just want to mod it the way you want and don't care if you're competitive in your class or not, you still get to compare your times to your friends
and check out the road race forum, there is enough there to read it should keep you occupied for a while
