Default cant get the air out of my coolant system...

again im having trouble with this damn car.

heat blows cold, radiator stays pretty cold, coolant will get hot in the motor, the gauge will go up. i never let it get above halfway.

also my fan is kicking on so its reading like 160+ temps.

last time i put the motor together it did this. i eventually fixed it by revving the **** out of the car with the bleed valve open on the coolant exit passage. tried that today on this and it didnt work. wtf is up with this, its getting annoying and i need the car to drive to work

oem b20 gasket.

the motor is an aebs sleeved lsvtec, 84mm. thermostat was replaced with the last motor build, 6000 miles ago.

the upper rad hose stays pretty cool, and the lower rad hose is ice cold. my oil temp is leveling out around 170

make sure you didn't mix up the manifold bypass and heater core hoses...

aside from that, when you fill it; jack the front of the car up slightly, and when you can't get it to take any more (while cold and not running) turn on the motor, and surge the throttle about every 15 sec or so... adding water as needed...

you _should_ be able to let it get up to fully warm before closing the radiator cap; if it is tuned.

yeah car is neptuned by jeff evans.

anyhow i fixed the problem. my upper rad hose had a hump in it, making it the highest point in the coolant system. it was either collecting an air bubble or it wasnt really letting coolant get to the rad from the motor.

i wound up taking off the upper hose from the rad, filling the coolant into the motor through that hose. then i rotated the hose so it was flat, ran the car for like 30 min and kept filling the rad. all good
