Default Depo Foglights FTL. They dont turn on anymore. I need some advice/help.

I have the yellow square depo foglights on my 96 civic. They worked well in the begining, then all the sudden they kind of started to flicker then eventually they just wouldnt turn on anymore. I can hear the relay click on and off when i push my foglight button. I put my test light to work, so i go to check the power from the fuse box to the power cable and the test light is on but its really dim. I double checked my grounds and they all check out. Has anybody ever had this issue before? I'll try to take pictures of the set up today and will have them up tommorow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advace.

I'd probably just re-wire them using my own wiring and relay.

What is it that makes the depo lights so "crappy"..? Is it the wiring? the lights, the fuses.? Or are they just overall a non quality product?

Padawan, what are your thoughts on HID equiped foglights? I was thinking on putting yellow HID's in my foglights. Would it be too much glare? Or would the foglights already be low enough to not cause glare? Sorry for all the questions. I have seen many of your posts and you have provided many users with the answers they were looking for. Thanks again, and sorry for all the questions.

The depo or any aftermarket fog light kit, uses wiring that isn't strong enough to withstand the power draw of the lights that you use.

You can make your own wiring harness...using 16-12 ga automotive wiring...

HID fogs are fine.. if aimed properly.

LOL.. my bad.. i posted the wrong link... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1812043

I see. Im gona try the thicker wiring. Also the relay seems to get really hot, and there is some sort of buildup around where the relay meets the harness.

The results will vary depending upon the HID kit and the fog lamps themselves. The Civic Depo lamps do not have a particularly sharp or well controlled beam, so I'd probably shy away from overpowering them with HID capsules, and would instead consider something like PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow replacement bulbs for them.
