Default Accord keeps dieing. Getting frustrated :(

My '01 4 cylinder Accord has about 143,000 miles on it and it has started dieing on a fairly regular basis. It never skips a beat going down the road. It only dies when it goes to idle. It's hard to pinpoint because it doesn't do it every time. It mostly happens when you are driving slow in traffic, slow down for a stop sign, or slow down to make a turn. Usually it's fine but several times a week it will just die when it goes to idle. It's getting to be dangerous and I have to get this fixed. I'm scarred it is going to die when I roll into an intersection to yield for a left turn and when I start to go it is going to be dead. It's gotten to the point that I keep my foot on the brake and keep the engine revved above idle in circumstances like this.

I've had the car in to our local Honda dealer 3 or 4 times. They cannot get it to die when they have it and they can't figure out what's wrong with it. I changed the plugs and wires a couple of weeks ago but it did not help at all.

At this point I'm just looking for ideas/suggestions of things I could check. Anyone got any ideas???

Thanks in advance.

I had a problem like this on an old chevy celebrity once. The techs could not get it to replicate, etc. I took it to a super mechanic and it turned out that the overdrive mechanisim was getting stuck. So once it was going let's say 40 mph and I slowed down, it would die. Only after waiting a while could I start it again. I don't remember the name of the disfunctioning part, but his solution was to simply disconnect the part which disabled the overdrive. Maybe this will ring a bell to someone on here or a mechanic at the dealer.
