rev limit for a 92-95 honda civic cx
1992-1995 USDM (cars built for and sold in America) Civic CX hatches did not come with a factory tach. If anyone has a USDM CX with a tach then someone added it.
I'll see if I can look up the specs for that wonderful 8 valve, 70hp marvel of an engine.

No, it's an incredibly low power, low compression, 8 valve POS engine that's not even worth any money. It drops a whopping FACTORY rating at 70hp AT THE CRANKSHAFT (making a stunning 50-60hp at the ground).
It's good for fuel economy as I'm pretty sure it has the same transmission as the VX, but the Z1 in the VX >>>>>>>>>>> the B8 in the CX. VTEC-E FTW.
The CX's redline in 5th generation ('92-'95) civics was 6500 RPM, I think.
In the 6th generation civics I'm pretty sure the CX sported the same Y7 as the DX did, which I believe had a 6800 RPM redline. Even my 6th gen EX has a 6800 RPM redline. Everything with the exception of the GX and HX (b/c I don't know on them), and the Si which has the 8200 or whatever, but all the COMMON base models from '96-'00 (DX, LX, EX, CX) had a 6800 RPM redline.
Just a Note: Don't confuse 5th gen ('92-95) with 6th gen ('96-'00) engines, it's a common belief that the Y8 (6th gen EX motor) has a redline of 7200 RPM, while that's only on the 5th generation EX ('92-'95 D16Z6), the 6th generation has a 6800 RPM redline.

Well I've yet to find the redline specs on the D15B8 yet...still looking.
I'm guessing between 6000-6500rpm though.
Honestly this is like asking what mpg ratings there are for a 600whp boosted B series engine.

EDIT:
Looks like 6500rpm as stated by Syndicate:

Without a tach you'll basically want to drive to the redline in the first few gears and take note of what MPH the rev limiter kicked in at, and then keep that in mind.
Unfortunately with a D15B8 revving to to the redline will still not achieve much acceleration.

6500rpms for a 96-2000 ex? I can rev my **** to 7500 w/ just header, crank pulley, 7.5lbs flywheel, exhaust, and a stg 2 clutch. Engine is a d16y8 w/ a s40 k4f tranny. I know the redline for making all 127 bad *** ponies is 6600 but I figured I was reving that high to set myself up between shifts for optimal performance since I would end up closer to my powerband.

^^Headers, crank pulley, and the other stuff you mentioned won't change what you can rev the engine to.
My 94 CX hit the rev limiter at about 6500 rpms, however it moved much faster if i shifted just under 5500 RPMs.

Exactly what I was about to type.
Perhaps the tach is off if you're reading 7500rpm?
