ls vtec/gsr internals or stock gsr???
well i have the choice of a rebuilt ls vtec with gsr internals.... or a b18c1 stock....
the guy i was talkin to said ill have more torque and horsepower out of the ls vtec with gsr internals. and it would be the same horsepower as a b18c1 gsr. he said it also takes boost very well and even better than a gsr cuz i eventually want to boost it...
so what do you think?
i originnaly wanted a b18c1
but now that he told me about the ls vtec with gsr internals..im kind of wanting that instead
any opinions
thanks

Yep. The LSVtec would be stronger, but since there is no oil squirters it can't the revs like a normal LSVtec could. But if you were to build the bottom end with forged internals - It wouldn't matter anymore.
Whatever your plans may be, if you boost on stock- Get a GSR.
If you play to build the bottom end when you boost- Get the LSVtec.

LSVtec can be a reliable motor, it just depends if you take shortcuts when you build it or not and just gotta know what you're doing.

thanks alot for the information man. helped a lot and that link
yeah i was planning to run low boost around 8psi on stock ...and i wouldnt be the one to rebuild the bottom end so i wouldnt have the money for someone to pull out my engine and do that
so yeah im probably going to go with the gsr.
thanks

okay so now i have another question.
you say the block of a ls isnt meant for high revs like a gsr. if theres all brand new gsr internals would it matter cuz then itd be just like a gsr block?
if i have an ls vtec with all gsr internals(pistons, rods, etc) wouldnt it be reliable and be able to stand revs like a gsr? and take boost like a gsr?
i heard going ls vtec is just better cuz of the torque and with the gsr internals id be making more hp than a stock gsr.
anyone can help me? im stumped?

i also just read that theres not a stock ecu that will runa ls vtec very well because its not a stock honda motor. well if its got all gsr internals..would a gsr ecu work?

No, aside from the piston/rods running like a stock gsr, in the block.
An LS block doesn't have oil squirters, while an OEM GSR block would.
But if you were to get forged pistons/rods- that wouldn't be much of a problem.
And if you're talking about boost, both motors are great on boost
